13th to 27th October 2018 - Bill and Jenny - Sheffield
Twin Peaks is absolutely beautiful - heaven and paradise all rolled into one. It is our kind of place - quiet and tranquil.
You relax and unwind from the minute you come through the gates and feel at peace instantly. We have found Richard and Maureen to be the most amazing hosts. In all the 43 years of going on fishing holidays
we have never had such accommodating, helpful, sociable, friendly people looking after us - you surpass everything we have
Nothing has ever been too much trouble, you are both committed to making everyone’s
holiday the best. We have so enjoyed being in your company and getting to know you - you are two lovely people.
has found the fishing quite challenging. Perhaps it was due to the exceptionally warm
weather we had during the day at this time of year combined with cold nights. However he did well - catching nearly every
day, with 14lb, 14½lb + 15lb being his biggest with others ranging from 8 - 12½lbs (I think the fish are just
very clever as whichever side of the lake Bill was fishing on the Carp always jumped on the other side.!!) It was quite unique as a wife who doesn’t fish but I was in my element here. I went for daily runs through
the forest and past all the farms. Then I just sat in the sun on the far side with my magazines, books and glasses of wine.!!
I even got a suntan. We enjoyed several days out which we would definitely recommend - Vitre, Fougeres and Chateaubriant
are medieval towns with Chateaux and markets. We loved Fougeres with its vibrant, colourful market and the Chateau where we
were given English audio guides which were really good. On all days out we had superb ‘Plat du Jour’
three course lunches at very reasonable prices and because of the super sunny weather we were able to sit outside and eat
which was an added bonus at this time of year and gave us that lovely holiday feeling. All in all we have had
one of our best holidays to date and would love to come back. We wish Maureen and Richard every happiness at
Twin Peaks - an ‘extra’ordinary place - what a wonderful way to spend ones retirement, we are
All our love
Jenny and Bill, Sheffield, England.
15th to 24th August 2018 - Patrick,
Brigitte and Lady - Belgium
We came here for the second time and we enjoy it as much as the first time. We had good weather and caught a lot of fish.I had also a Catfish on my hook but he ran into the lilies and broke my hook. Patrick saw him pass by and said he
was big, over 1m 50cms. Later in the week Patrick
caught a small Catfish. We had a lot of small fish that were very beautiful.
In total we caught about 65 fish so it was successful. We will come back to catch the big Catfish, 1) to take away my hook out of his mouth and 2) to teach him that ‘we’
are the bosses..!!
16th to 30th June 2018 - Will
and Lu - Norfolk UK.
We came here for †he first time last
year in June and promised to continue coming each year. Here we are, 2 fabulous weeks, 100 fish caught.
Several Catfish were caught, both of us getting P.B’s with
This Piece of Paradise is better each year, fantastic weather
and great fishing. The fishing is fascinating, you are never quite sure what you have
caught ‘till it’s almost at the bank. The quality of the fish is fantastic, credit due to Richard and Maureen,
you can see how much work they do to make your stay here great (still love Maureen’s cooking) 2 weeks free from the
kitchen Yeah.!!! Come the evenings we have a get together and have a laugh (our choice) or you can hide away, up to you.
Thank you both, Maureen and Richard, for making us feel
at home. Can’t wait ‘till next year is here (the two chilled out people)
See you Soon, Lu, Will and Molly the dog.
26th May to 1st June 2018 - Marjoke
and Jack van Tillo - Netherlands
Fishing days only, between them Marjoke and Jack had over 60 fish mostly stalking around the lake using their float
rods. They used 3 buckets of maize and 2 buckets of pellet to good advantage. Their full report can be seen in our customer
feedback book (in Dutch).
12th to 18th May 2018 - Miguel and
Sietske - Netherlands
Bivvied up on the bank and fishing 24/7 Miguel and Sietske had over 50 Carp and
one Catfish, they also lost a good few fish. Weather conditions were not the best but by baiting up accurately and using the
boat to take their baits out they managed to get the Carp on the feed using a total of 4 buckets of Maize and 3 buckets of
pellet. Their pictures speak for themselves.
11th to 25th
September 2017 – Marjoke and Jack van Tillo - Holland
This is the first time we go fishing in France
and at Twin Peaks. We come from Holland and we like it here very much.
Maureen and Richard are very nice people and help you with everything.
They give you all the information where you can find shops and supermarkets.
Every day we take some breakfast, lunch or dinner and they are
very, very good.
It is a beautiful lake and all the Carp look very good. We fish with the rods and buzzers and also with the float. Almost
all the Carp we catch with the Mixed Fruit boilies and some with Crab boilies.
The accommodation is very good, it is a very good place when you
want to fish and want some silence.
We are happy that we have 72 beautiful and healthy Carp. We come next year back
Maureen and Richard for everything.
Lots of love, Jack and Marjoke van Tillo from Holland.
19th to 26th
August – Patrick and Brigitte – Belgium
We came here for the first time and it will not be the last time. Next year we come back.!!!
Thanks for your warm welcome and your hospitality. We enjoyed the fishing and caught many beautiful
Carp. (More than 30 were over 5Kg). I am proud that I catch two carp within five minutes – double run.!! The first time
in my life I was fishing for Carp (Brigitte). We also enjoyed the beautiful lake and everything all around.
two wonderful people and we will remember our good chats in the evenings for a long time. The fish are beautiful and well cared for. You are the right people
in the right place.
Many greetings from Patrick, Brigitte and Lady all from Belgium. See you back next year.
5th to 12th
August 2017 – Uwe, Connor and Romain – Germany
It was a wonderful week at Twin Peaks. The lake talks for itself, it’s
an idyllic place. There’s animals all over here. There are many types of carps in the lake. We caught commons, mirrors, fully scaled ones,
a black common, a linear, a black common/crucian hybrid, another crucian hybrid and the two biggest fish were 8.1 Kgs and
8.3 Kgs.The town
is nice to, you have one supermarket 5 minutes away from the lake, in Chateaubriant there are many supermarkets and 3 tackle
shops where you can find all that you need.
But Maureen and Richard are really friendly, there’s no way they could be friendlier than
now. They gave us tackle when we needed it, good advertisement and helped us in every situation. They liked the way we were
fishing and it worked well for us. We caught more than 70 carp, 40 were over 3 Kgs.
We enjoyed our vacation. See you. Connor, Uwe and Romain
22nd to 29th
July 2017 – Riemer and Anouk – Holland
of all we want to thank you Richard and Maureen for giving us more than we could have wished for on our holiday. It started
with our arrival at Twin peaks after a three day drive from Friesland, the most northern part of the Netherlands. After Maureen opened the gate for us we saw this beautiful paradise. You took your time showing us around the lake and Maureen gave some
instructions in the caravan to Anouk while Richard and I had a chat about how to fish on the lake and you gave me some good
tips. This evening we had some dinner prepared by Maureen. We could highly recommend Maureen's lasagne because it is the
best! The first
time we hooked a tree or if we were stuck in the lilies I was a bit embarrassed to ask you for help. We were surprised that
you enjoyed helping us even during the rain. We are amazed by how helpful you were with everything. You helped us a couple of times when we got stuck but you also gave us some advice about activities nearby. During
our stay we went to the ‘monkey’ Zoo. We don’t know the name of the Zoo anymore. And on your advice we went
to Vitre for some shopping and sightseeing. For everybody who want to visit a beautiful town we would really recommend to
visit Vitre. During
the first half of the week we caught a lot of carp. After the stories of the big catfish that has been caught at Twin Peaks
I wanted to aim for a big cat. Richard and Maureen did everything to help us catch a big one. The last night before we had
to leave Richard and I waited all night for a big cat. I really enjoyed the chats and I’m still surprised we didn’t
wake Anouk with our laughs. In
total we caught 31 carp during the week unfortunately we couldn’t catch a cat but we will come back next year for it.
We look back on an amazing holiday. You really live in a paradise and we are so happy you wanted to share this dream with
us. The caravan was really clean just like the lake and the other surroundings everything was proper and clean and well maintained.
You gave us our rest and the space for our privacy. And on the other hand you were so helpful more than we could have
hoped for. At the end after all our chats and the fun we had together it feels like knowing each other
for years. Hope to see you next
Kind Regards, Anouk en Riemer
1st to 8th
July 2017 – Kim, Kate and Emma – Valbonne France
We have just enjoyed one of the best weeks holiday at this wonderful
place. When we came we thought we would be going on daily outings but found that it was such a lovely place we didn’t
feel the need to venture out much. Chateaubriant is a lovely town to visit on market day and a sightseeing trip to Vitré
was brilliant, what an amazing town.
The fishing here has been great. I have been able to fish with my daughter for the first time
and caught a number of good fish and I myself was lucky to catch 15 Carp in double figures and beat my previous best with
a fish of 16lbs 12ozs.!
Richard and Maureen are fantastic hosts and would do anything for you to ensure your stay is a really good one.
thanks – Kim, Kate, Emma and Cloe. P.S. Thank you for helping us with Cloe

Our week at Twin Peaks has flown by. In a word it was amazing.! What lovely people and a haven of peace. We have done nothing except relax and walk in the woods. Wouterus has caught 16 Carp using Maureen’s Crab flavoured boilies.
We recommend them. He also used his pole and caught many small Carp, Cruscians, Roach, Rudd and small Catfish.
Kind Regards Wouterus and Yvonne.
20th to 27th May 2017 – Luc and Nadia – Belgium.
Luc baited heavily and caught
well all week, some days he had up to 14 fish but he and Nadia also took time out to do some sightseeing during the week as
well. In total he had 54
fish the biggest around 18lbs. This is what they had to say about us:
Maureen and Richard for this beautiful place that we have shared for a week. We have enjoyed our stay very much! The Lake
and the environment has given us the rest we needed. It is really beautiful and well taken care of. Luc has really enjoyed
the fishing time and the many Carp he has caught.
Belgium, Nadia and Luc.
13th to 19th May 2017 – Rene and Jolanda – Netherlands.
Maureen and Richard for a great week. The lake fished nicely with 29 Carp to 8Kgs on all sorts of boilies:
peach/squid/robin red/vanilla/ etc. Only fished evenings and nights into the morning then went sightseeing during the day.
We visited Carnak, Angers, Fougeres, Vitre, Rennes, Chateaubriant and La Roche aux Fees.
Richard – Thanks for the ‘mole bomb’ next
to my bivvy..!!
regards, Rene and Jolanda.
6th to 13th

Absolutely perfect, peace, spotlessly clean accommodation, beautiful surroundings. Chill out is what we wanted and chill
out is exactly what we got. Fantastic hosts, can't do enough for you.
Thank you Maureen and Richard for all your
help which went well beyond what you should do as hosts. We all had some good chats and certainly a few good laughs.
wasn't over great this week but caught a few and it was extremely hot weather.
We will definitely be returning.
12th to 20th August 2016 - Paul, Chiara and Samuel from
Sitting here Saturday morning outside before we have to leave, enjoying the last moments here. We will look back on this week
with great pleasure and joy.
The place / location / caravans where excellent, no wifi, no internet, just sit outside,
fish a little bit (watch out for trees and lily's) and have a great time with my kids at Twin Peaks.
Baits Spicy Chicken boilies did well scoring around 10 bigger carp and a dozen or so smaller ones.
Chiara and Samuel
enjoyed the stay very much, it is good for the kids to have no phones and computers.
Many thanks for the kind reception
and excellent time here, you are great people / hosts and we wish you all the best and hope to see you again.
Paul, Chiara and Samuel.
Owners Catch Report 2 - 9 July 2016 - Total number of Carp caught was 34
Carp and we lost a further 20 carp and a number of catfish on the Friday morning that were curiously turned on by the
R&B Baits Mixed Fruit boilies.!
During the week we used 15 buckets of mixed maize and wheat and around 3 kilos of
boilies. Each day we used the same
flavoured boilies on all rods and changed flavours every two days.
The highest scoring bait was R&B Baits Garlic
with Robin Red with 17 fish whilst the biggest which was 18lbs came to the R&B Pineapple and Tigernut.
We did not fish constantly during the
week, indeed on the Monday we went off for the day to watch the Tour de France. Richard stayed out and fished 5 out of the
Weather-wise: It was a warm sunny week with temperatures peaking
at 27° on the Thursday and the wind was in generally a south westerly direction. Overnight temperatures averaged 12 degrees.
Water temperature 21 degrees.
21 Fish came out during daylight hours and 13 during hours
of darkness 8 of which were on the Monday night on Garlic boilies and mostly before midnight. Altogether a very enjoyable
25th June to 1st July 2016 - Peter and Sandra
Peter and Sandra came to Twin Peaks for a relaxing break away and to do a bit of fishing and as Peter said when he arrived if he catches the odd Carp or two it would be a bonus.
Well he did that alright.! Fishing
around their trips out and without any nights he banked 25 Carp in total and lost many more besides. It looks like they left
us some pretty nice comments in our guest book but as its in Dutch you will have to see for yourself. :-) R&B Baits
pineapple and tigernut, cocos and banana and garlic with robin red accounted for 14 out of the 25 Carp, a great result.
to 29th August 2015 - Roy and Sanne, Holland.
After a blank week at their previous venue Roy was over-the-moon to
arrive here and catch on his first day. The weather during their time here was not the best with lots of rain and a few thunderstorms
thrown in. But as they said “Hey, we are from Holland, it rains all the time there”.!!
His total for the week was 11 Carp, all mirrors, caught on CC Moores Almond boilies and a mix of
RandB Baits Mixed Fruit, Cocos and Banana, and Pineapple and Tigernut.
We have enjoyed our stay very much. The lake and its surrounding
nature are beautifully taken care of. Richard and Maureen take good care of their guests in a sincere way. A++
hospitality hosts J
We have needed their help twice this
week, once for getting out of the lillies, (Maureen gave it her all to get our rig out of its roots) and once in the tree
where Richard almost cut his thumb off for our rig.
We have enjoyed all the talks and every tip you gave us. And……. Maureen taught Sanne how to cast a rod.!
Fantastic. I hope to show you in the future how we’ve developed our skills.
strange weather week, rain, wind, sunshine, constantly changing. We have only caught 11 Mirror Carp but we had a lot of fun.!
Greetings from Holland.
Roy and Sanne
to 19th August 2015 - Harvey and Chris
condition and commercial fishery tactics made this a rather difficult time for Harvey and Chris. Harvey pulled out a couple
of nice carp on his Tigernut boilies but by half way through their holiday they decided to try out our R and B Baits Pineapple
and Tigernut boilies which put a few more on the bank. Total catch was 11 carp in all, falling to both baits, and one small
catfish on worms.
1st to 8th August 2015
- Sue and Stu
First thing to say is thanks to you both for making us feel welcome from the moment we drove in the gates until the
time we had to leave. We found everything we needed in the vans, they are well kept, comfortable and well looked after.
The fishery is a credit to you both, the banks are well maintained but the lake still has a very natural feel to it (it must
be hard work).
I fished for a few hours most mornings 6 ‘till 10 and then again in the evenings up ‘till
midnight. I managed to catch 17 nice commons and mirrors ranging from 8 to 15lbs. A couple were caught stalking the margins
on sweetcorn but most came to the R & B Baits Pineapple and Tigernut boilies or maize, kindly supplied by Maureen. I also
had a few hours float fishing and caught plenty of small Rudd, some nice Roach up to 8ozs and some gorgeous little hand sized
Carp topped off by my first ever Catfish, it may only have weighed a pound but is a new species
to my list. I must say that all of the fish were in superb condition and fought like crazy.
had a great week, the fishing’s been interesting, we’ve found some nice antiques in the nearby towns, seen plenty
of wildlife and both feel really chilled out. We hope Richard and the Robin like their blue teapot..!
For anyone else
staying this first week in August please don’t miss the “Etincelles Aquatiques” (fireworks) at Martigne-Ferchaud,
it’s a must.
Again, many thanks for a great week, hope to see you again.
Best Wishes, Sue and Stu.
26th June to 3rd July 2015 – David, Chris and Juliet
What a lovely week we’ve
all had. The caravans were perfect, everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed
our BBQ’s most days and of course the fishing!
The lake suited all our requirements and stalking the margins with sweetcorn and halibut paste proved
very effective. With this method we caught various carp ranging from 1lb to 14lbs. The biggest being 17lbs.
Our ledger rods in the evening and early hours of the
morning were great fun and the carp were caught on banana nut boilies, red shrimp and garlic boilies and the R&B Baits
pineapple and tigernut boilies were also successful. Often used with a 10mm popup 2” off the bottom. We also caught
4 beautiful crucian carp, the biggest being a massive 3lbs.
Only managed 4 catfish, the biggest being under 1lb..!! despite trying for the monster.
Thank you both for being so helpful, we found our chats
during the day very interesting and wish you all the best for the future.
Hope to return soon!
Chris, Juliet and David.
Email received from David after they returned home:-
Hi. Had a good journey home but missing the lake already!
Thanks again for a superb holiday. Right from
my first enquiry you could not have been more helpful or efficient.
You have both created a marvelous fishery with something for all
types of fishermen. The lake is varied with a good stock of fish, all in excellent condition.
It was great meeting you both and we hope
to return in the future.
lines! David, Chris and Juliet.
16th to 23rd May 2015 – Mick and Sheryl
on the Saturday to this wonderful haven. Everything you need was catered for. Richard and Maureen were great hosts.
comes alive at night so be patient during the day, you’re better off stalking your game. Use plenty of Maureen’s
wonderful maize mix before you fish at night for great results. The R&B Boilies supplied did the trick. The Pineapple
& Tigernut and Spicy Chicken did the business for me. Use PVA bags with the carp pellets.
The fish are in super condition and fight
like crazy. I had 21 fish all ranging from upper to lower doubles and should have caught many more as I lost 7. Tried for the catfish and the
Worm is the best bait. Unfortunately I only had one run which ended up smashing me up (it was a monster..!!).
Thanks, all the best Mick and Sheryl.
3rd to 10th May 2015 – Andy Trev and Phil.
During their week at Twin Peaks
the boys had around 30 carp and 1 catfish. Andy was targeting the cats all week and was finally rewarded for his patience
on his penultimate night. Trev won the carp crown with his soft ‘Banofee’ boilies. We couldn’t wish to meet
three nicer blokes and it was our pleasure having you here.
What they said about us:- “A huge thank you to you both for a superb week.
It really is a bit of a paradise here and you are superb hosts. Your fish are lovely and the fishing is a perfect blend of
easy and hard. We wish you all the best in your life here and will be back next year. Thanks. Andy, Trev and Phil.
P.S. Don’t forget the plaque on ‘Phil’s Tree’.”
– 27th September 2014. Raymond and Anthony, Holland.
Translation of Review taken from the Franzkarpers.nl website)
know, my brother and I returned yesterday from a week fishing at Twin Peaks.
I can tell you that we have had a huge week!
We caught a total of 24 fish.
For us it was the first time we went to France and it is totally not disappointing.
After a long journey of about 12 hours we had to call Richard and Maureen because we could not find it.
we were picked up within 5 minutes at the church. On arrival at Twin Peaks were handed over all things and was explained everything.
We have prepared everything immediately and reinforced. After two good hours of fishing was already a hit. After two nice
carp have been caught we go to sleep.
Monday was for us a very good day because on that day
we caught up to 8 fish. Fish after fish are all caught with the Mixed Fruit boilies from R & B baits.
I do not know
how it is in other places but I must honestly say that it really is all taken care of down to the last detail. The fish look
very neat, Richard and Maureen are wonderful people. The property looks very neat and so on. We can find no minus.
Richard and Maureen, I cannot become more pronounced. These people are so wonderful, they are very helpful and do really everything
that you will have a great week.
Catch guarantee you never and the weather is always a gift, but these people meet there
in my eyes really no words.
For the more advanced fishermen this might not be the most ideal place to fish because the
biggest carp something like 20 or 21 pounds but I can really recommend everyone!
Our biggest fish was 17 pounds, incidentally.
Finally we want to thank you for the very enjoyable holiday and we would like to indicate that Richard and Maureen with
Twin Peaks earn a very good reference.
Sincerely, Raymond van Breugel
Sharon and John Darbey 6 to 16 September 2014
Well, after getting lost, but then we always do – What a piece of
Heaven we found..!! Quiet, Clean, Welcoming. It took all afternoon to unpack, sun shining hot..!! Getting ready to fish, excited….
Here we go.! Accommodation just great I’m loving
the two vans and to wake up to birds singing, fish jumping, found the CD player, music on, Barbie on, just waiting to catch. Slow start to fishing but with the help of Maureen’s
Chocolate Orange and Garlic homemade boilies banked 3 nice carp last night weighing in between 10 and 18 lbs. Weather is lovely
25 degrees. Saturday and another 3 last night making
a total of ten so far with a few at around 13lbs. 8pm
and another lovely Common and sun still shining. Not looking forward to going home. Sunday afternoon and another 3 fish in the net. Total now 14 fish. Monday night, lovely 16lb Common that fought like a 30 and
3 Mirrors to 15lbs. Total 18 fish and the rods are in ooh..!! Just like to thank you both for a lovely holiday. Beautiful place really don’t wanna go.! May visit
again one fine dayLots
of Love Sharon and John xxxP.S. Richard. Get to work on those trees Ha Ha, gotta come down.
Tony Grainger and Linda Lacey 29 June to 12 July
Spent lovely 2 weeks fishing
here. I must say Maureen and Richard very helpful and informative. The accommodation is very good and we had everything we
needed. The fishing was hard but still enjoyed it and I got my first Catfish, 12lb very happy with that. The lake and grounds
are kept very nice. The weather was very changeable had a lot of rain. But we had a good holiday. Coming back next year to
Richard and Sue Lyes 7-15
a big thank you for your great hospitality, we very much enjoyed our time at Twin PeaksWe
were very impressed with the lake and the condition of the fish, the fishing was easier than we expected that made it very
accommodation was very surprisingly comfortable and your efforts to keep everything in tip top order certainly shows.
Although you live in one corner of the lake you respected our privacy, this was very much appreciated
and we enjoyed our evening chatter. To Summarise:-
Beautiful lake with many features and depths, very well kept
fishing, Not a pressured fishery.Comfortable, clean and well kept accommodation that is very close to the lake.Friendly, helpful owners. No stupid fishing rules like
most French carp lake fisheries for example: Bait bans or bait not allowed but they sell the same ones you buy in tackle shops
on site but at inflated prices.Only 5 and a half hours from Calais, and it is an easy drive. Price of the holiday……… it
is an absolute bargain...!!!
